I've been partial to Sequoia Cafe since I've spent so many pub quizzes at Frank's various establishments over the years. The relationship I've developed with Frank has allowed me a channel to hassle him about looking out for vegetarians on his menu. While I've never been blown away by the Veggie Sandwich (28RMB), the heaping portion of Veggie Lasagna (40RMB) I tried yesterday just about knocked my socks off. The large, steaming hot piece of lasagna was overflowing with eggplant, mushrooms, tomato, and cheese. Delicious! I really was impressed at the portion size as well. I happily gobbled up my lasagna, alternating bites with the accompanying house salad with a tasty, zesty Italian vinaigrette.
Sequoia has a full menu of coffee, sandwiches, muffins, and other baked goods. Wireless internet is courtesy of the Kerry Centre Hotel, so the signal isn't terribly strong, but I didn't experience any problems.
A new location for Sequoia, his Kerry Centre outlet offers a great place for CBD'ers to catch a quick, reasonably priced bite or a cup of coffee. Try the lasagna! (Dec '09)
